I made the cupcakes especially for them and they asked if they could have the cake instead. Mind you, the cake is the same cake as in the cupcakes. You can't win when you put extra effort into something.
Doesn't it look like Minnie herself is right there?!
We have been planning a extended family vacation to Disneyland. Mandy's family got the news for Christmas. Our plan was to give it to them for their birthday. Mandy's family came in on Christmas talking about it but my girls never blinked an eye - I was expecting some tears or begging but got nothing. They were even giving some tips and suggestions to Molly. I guess they are much more mature than I give them credit. :) Then one night after Christmas, my mom and I were discussing when I was going to tell them and I decided we'd do it with Brian and Kristen present...Brian has never been around and K isn't here anymore. So on Thursday it was announced the party would be at noon on Friday. I've never put together a party without weeks - even month's of planning so I was nervous. The girls asked for cheese pizza from Little Caesars and broccoli for their meal. I told them their cake would be a surprise from me. The cake wasn't completed until after midnight (a big thanks to Ashley for putting her face on) and the party supplies weren't purchased until Friday morning. Presents (shirts) had been purchased in the Fall.
The reaction to reading their notes and seeing their cake were exactly what I had envisioned. Much better than last year when they were woken up and told we were headed out the door that minute to go to DL. They have been praying at every opportunity about this trip since Friday.
We leave on the 6th, will spend the night at Derek and Lisa's and then hang with them on the 7th and then that night head to our hotel where we will meet up with everyone. We are spending 3 days in the parks and headed home on the 11th. I hope and pray the weather is gorgeous and we have a great time.
